Surrender

I have done all I can 

It’s time to let go,

To say yes when I want

And learn to say no.

To not fight,

The ebb and flow of life

To cut the decaying past

Loose with a knife.

Maybe I can find freedom

In things previously denied

To not struggle against the current

But flow gently with the tide.

The oceans pressure

Is hard to take,

The fear of failure,

The punishment of mistakes.

These storms have raged too long

I’ve found the strength within,

I’m not giving up,

I’m just giving in.
